Xperiology expands portfolio with Ticketing Technology Forum
Xperiology – event partner to the sports & entertainment sector – is delighted to announce the launch of Ticketing Technology Forum, a new industry conference which will debut in London, 19-20 March 2013.
“We believe there is a real need for a forum that gets to the heart of the technology challenges and opportunities of the rapidly-evolving live entertainment ticketing sector,” explains Ian Nuttall, CEO, Xperiology. “There are several established ticketing industry gatherings – but they tend to only serve the requirements of one or two specific sectors. By focussing solely on technological innovation we hope to attract an audience drawn from the whole spectrum of the industry – from sports, performing arts, concerts, cinema, festivals and visitor attractions.”
“In addition to hearing from some of the most innovative companies across each industry sector, we will be highlighting and discussing new products which explore common themes across the industry such as engagement with mobile operators, mobile payments, NFC, harnessing social media and cloud computing. We believe we have identified an opportunity that we hope the whole industry will embrace and which will also attract mobile operators, media groups, payment providers and other external organisations looking to engage with the live entertainment industry.”
Partnering with industry veteran John Pinchbeck (founder of TicketingConsultancy.com), the new Ticketing Technology Forum is designed to fill a fundamental knowledge gap in the global ticketing market.
“The concept behind the Ticketing Technology Forum was presented to me by a group of suppliers who were frustrated with the level of exposure and debate being given to technological innovation within our industry. After many more discussions with other suppliers, venues, consultants and rights-holders that concept has evolved into what we hope will be a compelling live event, supported – and enhanced – by online discussion, debate and product updates before, during and after the Forum,” adds Pinchbeck.
“Almost every other technology sector has a high-level meeting where strategy, commerce and technology converge. We believe it is time for the live entertainment ticketing sector to join them.”
Through his role as Co-Founder, and Chair of the Forum’s Advisory Board, Pinchbeck will bring more than 25 years’ of broad industry knowledge to help Xperiology develop and deliver a conference programme and discussion forum that addresses the key issues facing the ticketing sector now and into the future.
Xperiology’s existing portfolio of industry meetings for the global sports and entertainment sector includes TheStadiumBusiness Summit, Fan Experience Forum, Premium Seat Seminar, Nordic Venue Forum and AuditoriumsMEET.
“Our existing meetings and marketing databases give us unrivalled access to the venues sector but I believe it is our focus on conference content, programming and visitor experience that are the ingredients which will ultimately help us succeed in making Ticketing Technology Forum the ‘must-attend’ meeting and showcase for the international ticketing technology sector in the years ahead,” explains Ian Nuttall, co-founder of Xperiology.
