Auditoriums Meet

SPEAKER PREVIEW: Clicket.co.uk – a city wide ticketing solution for Edinburgh

Delegates at AuditoriumsMeet 2012 will be given an exclusive insight into Clicket – the new, city-wide ticketing solution for the city of Edinburgh – with Ros Lamont, Chief Executive, The Audience Business the latest speaker to be confirmed for the international conference programme.

Clicket.co.uk is the public facing website of the Edinburgh Portal Pilot Project (EPPP); a dynamic and technologically innovative series of inter-connected, content-rich websites and related digital marketing campaigns that provide a comprehensive picture of the arts and culture on offer in central Edinburgh.

Developed by The Audience Business, in partnership with over 30 arts organisations, Clicket.co.uk offers the unique ability to sell tickets across venues and multiple ticketing systems, combined with personalised content and user communications. The site went live in July 2011 and features on average, 550 events per month throughout the year, growing to over 5000 in the busy Summer period.

At AuditoriumsMeet 2012, Ros Lamont will join the international speaking programme to outline the EPPP, and explore whether this joined-up approach will help to drive sales, attract new audiences, increase frequency and venue crossover and maximise the benefits of technology across the city’s arts venues.

“The EPPP aims to provide a straightforward overview of the arts and culture on offer in the Edinburgh region,” explains Ros, “And, hopefully, to help persuade, encourage and motivate people living, working and visiting the city to get out there and enjoy it to the full!”

“Clicket.co.uk is a key part of the project; providing a comprehensive information ‘hub’, to allow users to view, and purchase tickets for events across the breadth of the City’s venues in one place.”

“As I’ll be discussing at the Meet, we are working alongside the region’s organisations and venues to help complement existing promotions, and sustain Edinburgh’s pre-eminence as a cultural giant for all audiences.”

About the speaker:

Ros joined The Audience Business as Chief Executive in 2004, after 5 years as the Scottish Arts Council’s first ever Head of Audience Development.

In her time at TAB, she has repositioned the company as an audience-focussed activity hub and think tank for the arts and cultural sector in Edinburgh, and across Scotland. TAB’s core specialism in market intelligence which connects arts organisations with new and hard to reach audiences is embedded in the company’s approach to managing the Edinburgh Portal Pilot Project / Clicket.co.uk– a dynamic world-first series of inter-connected content-rich websites and related digital marketing campaigns that will grow over time to provide a comprehensive and personalised picture of the city region’s cultural ‘offer’, as well as real time integrated ticketing.

Before all this, Ros spent ten years as a ‘hands on’ arts marketer for a range of organisations and arts forms in both England and Scotland – including a symphony orchestra, music and theatre festivals, an arts centre, a theatre company and working as part of the agency launch team for Audiences Yorkshire. Ros is a board member of the Edinburgh Art Festival and Audiences UK (the umbrella organisation for the UK’s audience development agencies).
