Timeline for TheStadiumBusiness Awards 2013 set; nominations to open 3 December

The Awards process and timeline for TheStadiumBusiness Awards 2013 has today been unveiled.

Nominations for the fourth annual edition of TheStadiumBusiness Awards – the first industry awards for the stadium sector by the stadium sector – will open on Monday 3 December 2012.

Nominations will be open for 12 weeks, with executives from stadiums and stadium businesses around the world invited to cast their entries through www.stadiumbusinessawards.com .

Nominations will close at 5pm (GMT) on Friday 1 March 2013, after which time all received entries will be verified and scrutinised to determine shortlists of potential winners in each category.

The shortlists for TheStadiumBusiness Awards 2013 will be unveiled publicly on Tuesday 16 April 2013.

The judging panel for the 2013 Awards, to be comprised once again of a specially-appointed selection of international stadium business experts, will meet on Friday 24 May 2013 to discuss, debate and deliberate over each of the entries, and select outstanding winners in each category.

Finally, the winners will be announced on Thursday 6 June 2013, at a special Gala Evening in Manchester.

A diverse spectrum of achievement

For 2013, Awards will be presented across 16 different categories, representing a diverse spectrum of achievement in the stadium, arena and major sports venue sector.

2013 sees the introduction of the Small Venue of the Year Award; a new prize to recognise the best sub 10,000-seat stadium, arena or major sports venue in the world in the past 12 months.

“We are excited to be organising the fourth edition of TheStadiumBusiness Awards,” comments Ian Nuttall, Founder of TheStadiumBusiness Awards.

“TheStadiumBusiness Awards were created to help recognise achievement, creativity, innovation and leadership across our sector, and I hope we’ve gone a small way to achieving that in our first three editions.”

“We were delighted with the number of entries received for 2012,” continues Nuttall, “And would like to once again encourage the stadium sector to send us their entries when nominations open in December.”
