Integrating IT and AV into the stadium build process is an increasingly difficult task. As our stadium builds become ‘smarter and better connected’ environments, so does the issue of what to buy, when to buy it and how to plan it into the project.
We are therefore delighted to welcome Dirk Noy, Principal, WSDG (Walters-Storyk Design Group), Switzerland to the international speaking line up at TheStadiumBusiness Design & Development Summit 2012 (12-14 November 2012) to explore the challenges of technology procurement for stadiums in a digital age.
“In today’s world of increasingly complex technical media installations, multi-functional devices and computer controlled sound and video systems; the integration of all equipment pieces into a working system is a complex engineering task,” explains Dirk, who joins Session 7: ‘Technology – How far do you go?’ on day two of the conference programme for Warsaw.

“The task covers the definition of requirements to early conceptual studies, AV network engineering and acoustical design, the choosing of equipment in coherence with budget and technical requirements, and then the implementation, wiring and custom programming of the system’s components and control elements.”

About the speaker
Dirk Noy has a Diploma in Experimental Solid State Physics from the University of Basel, Switzerland and is a graduate from Full Sail Center for the Recording Arts, Orlando, USA, where he was one of John Storyk’s students.
Since joining the Walters-Storyk Design Group in early 1997, he has been involved in numerous international small and large acoustical design and consultation projects, and has headed WSDG’s European Office in Basel, Switzerland since late 1997.
Dirk has extensive experience in Applied Mathematics, acoustical measurement and calculation techniques, audio engineering, systems design and all facets of Information Technologies. As a publishing member of the Audio Engineering Society (AES) and the Swiss Acoustical Society (SGA) he is a frequent lecturer at trade conventions, recording schools and colleges, as well as architectural education institutions. A connoisseur of contemporary music from the 80s till today, Dirk is occasionally still active as an audio engineer for live events and recording projects.

“Задача включает определение требований уже на ранних стадиях работы над концепцией, разработку инженерной схемы аудиовизуального оборудования и акустического дизайна, выбор оборудования в рамках имеющегося бюджета и соответствующего техническим требованиям, а затем реализацию, прокладку кабелей и программирование для пользователей компонентов системы и элементов управления”.
