Hitting the sporting headlines recently has been the 6th edition of the ICC World Twenty20 tournament in India and the growth of this format.
Host nation and pre-tournament favourites, India, (who fell short to West Indies in the Semi-Finals) are the only nation to win the World Cup in every limited overs format and this can be directly linked to affection cricket holds in India.
With the Indian Premier League (IPL) continuing to grow the popularity of the game and record impressive attendance figures for each match, it comes as little surprise India are so successful in this format of the game.
