Giving something back
We’ve set aside 1% of turnover for good causes this year – and we’ve focused our initial support on organisations directly related to sports and entertainment. Last week’s Venue Tech Day at Twickenham gave us the opportunity to support our host’s official charity – the RFU Injured Players Foundation.
SUPPORTING RUGBY
We presented a cheque for £1250 to England Rugby’s Chief Executive, Ian Ritchie at the start of the day. The Injured Players Foundation looks after seriously injured players for life and helps prevent future injuries through research and education. 100% of the donation support goes directly to injured players and prevention research – because the RFU cover all their admin costs.
ACCESSIBLE FOOTBALL
Next stop is TheStadiumBusiness Awards (1 June) on the pitch of the legendary Santiago Bernabéu Stadium during TheStadiumBusiness Summit 2016 in Madrid (31 May – 2 June). This year, the Awards’ official charity is CAFE (Centre for Access in Football Europe). This organisation is doing great work promoting equal access at all European football stadiums and their clubs.
It’s great putting on world-class meetings. It’s even better to be able to give something back into the industry we serve. The old adage – charity begins at home – springs to mind.
