Who’s coming? Eclectic, diverse, international – And we’ve only just begun!

ATTENDANCE UPDATE: The LEVEL Summit is already drawing an eclectic, diverse and international mix of live entertainment professionals – just what we need for a lively debate on the future of the live entertainment venue business!

So much so that we’ve decided to extend our early bird offer until 31st August.

Some of the latest venue leaders confirming their attendance at the Summit in London (26-27 November) include:

Dr. Berndt Schmidt, General Director of the beautiful, city-owned Friedrichstadt-Palast in Berlin – described as “Las Vegas in Berlin” with the world’s biggest theatre stage!

Re-opened in 1984, the show palace lies in the Berlin-Mitte district (“Broadway of Berlin”) and occupies a massive structure that was the last magnificent building of the former German Democratic Republic. The venue’s BIG shows, children’s shows and guest appearances, as well as the Berlinale and galas such as the German Film Awards attract nearly 700,000 visitors annually.

Olivier Toth, General Manager of Rockhal – Luxembourg’s No. 1 concert venue.

With a main hall which can accommodate up to 6,500 and a “Club” space for 1,200, the Rockhal is a complex managed by the public institution Centre de Musiques Amplifiées and co-financed by the Luxembourgish State. It is also a major Music & Resources Centre, comprising no fewer than six rehearsal rooms, a recording studio, a dance studio and a documentation centre. Rockhal is a place where players of the Luxembourg music scene – professional and amateur alike – can interact and share their views on the local industry.

Ralf Schulze, Managing Director of the C3 multi-purpose events complex in Chemnitz, Germany

With three venues – Messe Chemnitz (Chemnitz Exhibition Centre), Stadthalle Chemnitz (Chemnitz City Hall) and the Wasserschloß Klaffenbach (Klaffenbach Moated Castle) – C3 offers a host of options for exhibitions and events, all from a single, city-owned operation.

Founded by the Dutch entertainment legend Joop van den Ende (also an original co-founder of Endemol), Stage Entertainment today consists of over 35 companies which provide a wide range of live entertainment to audiences around the world. Dmitry Bogachev heads up its Russian operations and overseas shows such as Disney, Chicago and Mamma Mia! as they break into new markets…

…and all the way from ‘Down Under’: Michael Bloyce, Manager Arts & Culture at Gladstone Regional Council in Queensland, Australia.

Gladstone is currently underway with a Aus$33m redevelopment of the city’s Gladstone Entertainment Centre to establish it as one of regional Queensland’s premier entertainment venues, attracting new entertainment, conferences and events never before seen in the region. The expansion will see the addition of a new multi-use convention and event floor space which will increase the venue’s capacity to 1,500 standing and allow it to host larger and higher-profile events and concerts.
