We’re delighted to kickoff our 2025 fundraising efforts for EMERGENCY with our first ‘Donations 4 Nominations’ campaign across TheTicketingBusiness Awards 2025.
Thanks to everybody who submitted entries. Unlike other ‘pay to enter’ or ‘buy a table’, all of our industry Awards are free to enter and, in turn, we make a donation for every complete, valid entry to the life-saving work of our charity partner EMERGENCY.
This year’s three-week window for TheTicketingBusiness Awards 2025 nominations generated over 200 submissions (currently being scrutinised). And we committed to a £5 donation for each valid entry. So we start 2025 with >£1,000 to EMERGENCY. .
The funds come at a time when the international charity has just finished construction of its new primary healthcare clinic in the Gaza Strip.
The clinic is situated in the al-Qarara area of Khan Younis, and is providing first aid, basic medical and surgical care for both adults and children, outpatient reproductive health services, post-operative nursing follow-up care, stabilisation of medical and surgical emergencies, and transfer to hospital facilities.
It will help in a context where the level of need remains staggering, despite the ongoing ceasefire. Almost two million people have been displaced, over 47,000 people have died and over 111,000 have been injured. Approximately 90% of the population lives in tents and makeshift accommodation, while only half of the hospitals in Gaza (18 out of 36) are even partially operational.
Giorgio Monti, EMERGENCY’s Medical Coordinator in Gaza, explains more:
“Since we arrived in August 2024, we have witnessed the humanitarian situation worsening day after day. The needs in Gaza are, and will continue to be vast, but we are committed to helping in the archetypal EMERGENCY way: sustainably and for the long-term.”
At TheTicketingBusiness Forum 2025 in April we will not only be celebrating the Finalists and Winners of TheTicketingBusiness Awards 2025 but once again we’ll be encouraging donations on the night and throughout the two-day conference – and we’ll match every £ donated by our delegates and sponsors.
Meanwhile, to support the lifesaving work of EMERGENCY, please donate here. In the time you’ve taken to read this post, its medical experts would have helped another four lives.
