Stadion Narodowy endorses TheStadiumBusiness Design & Development Summit
Stadion Narodowy (the National Stadium in Warsaw) has further underlined its support of TheStadiumBusiness Design & Development Summit 2012, with an official letter of endorsement received from Robert Wojtaś, Vice Chairman.
The 58,500 seat stadium, which hosted the opening match of UEFA’s EURO2012 tournament this summer, is one of two world class venues in Warsaw that delegates will tour as part of the programme for the Summit (12-14 November 2012).
In addition to personally hosting a unique ‘behind the scenes’ tour at the €400m stadium, Mr Wojtaś will offer his expert reflections on the operation of the venue since its opening in January, as well as outlining the future development plans for the surrounding sports district include a multipurpose 20,000-capacity indoor arena, an Olympic-size swimming pool, hotels and convention centre facilities.
And, with five weeks remaining until the Design & Development Summit takes place, Mr Wojtaś has this week offered an official letter of welcome to all Summit participants.
On behalf of all the team here at Stadion Narodowy (the National Stadium), I would like to extend our warmest welcome to all participants of TheStadiumBusiness Design & Development 2012 in our beautiful city of Warsaw.
Of course, the National Stadium is now famous for hosting the opening game, several group matche, a quarterfinal and the semifinal of the UEFA EURO 2012, co-hosted by Poland and Ukraine.
But, in just its first year of operation, this multi-purpose stadium has also hosted Polish national team games, league fixtures, international football friendlies, a marathon, American Football, local concerts and world-class musical artists including Coldplay and Madonna.
Naturally we are all proud of our magnificent new stadium. As you know, developing a major stadium facility to international standards is no simple undertaking but, through hard work and determination, our team has succeeded where many others still dream.
We look forward to sharing with you the story of our National Stadium’s development during its 5 years of design and construction during the expert’s tour we will provide all delegates on 13 November.

Don’t be misled! TheStadiumBusiness Design & Development Summit 2012 is the only stadium design summit in Warsaw to be officially supported by the city’s leading stadiums.
About the speaker:
Robert Wojtaś has been CEO of Narodowe Centrum Sportu since February 2012. He has been involved in the supervision of the construction of National Stadium in Warsaw from the very beginning of the works as a Vice-Chairman of the Management Board responsible for Project Management. His core responsibilities included management of the National Stadium preparation to UEFA EURO 2012 ™ and carrying out the Tournament.
His educational background is Rzeszów Technical University. A civil engineer specialising in engineering constructions, bridge construction and maintenance, Robert is a member of the Polish Chamber of Civil Engineers. His experience comes from working as construction engineer for the Bridge Construction Company in Warsaw. During 2000 – 2008 (June) he was employed by Polska Telefonia Cyfrowa (mobile telephone operator, currently T Mobile) as manager of the department of network infrastructure construction.

На этой неделе, когда до встречи на Саммите Стадионов остается всего пять недель, Mr. Wojtaś обратился со словами дружественного приветствия в адрес всех участников Саммита.

Национальный Стадион знаменит тем, что здесь проведена церемония открытия, несколько матчей, четвертьфинал и полуфинал Евро-2012, турнира, который принимался Польшей и Украиной совместно.
Помимо этого, уже в первый год своей работы, этот многоцелевой стадион также принял матчи с участием Национальной команды Польши, польской сборной, международные футбольные товарищеские матчи, марафон, американский футбол, и неоднократно становился местом проведения концертов местного масштаба и принимал звезд мирового уровня, включая Coldplay и Мадонну.
Естественно, мы все гордимся нашим великолепным новым стадионом. Как вы знаете, строительство крупного спортивного объекта, отвечающего международным стандартам, является не простым вопросом. Благодаря упорному труду и решительности, наша команда преуспела, в то время как для многих подобный проект, так и остается несбыточной мечтой.
Мы рады возможности поделиться с вами историей девелопмента нашего Национального стадиона, дизайн и строительство которого велось 5 лет, во время ознакомительного тура, который запланирован для делегатов на 13 ноября.
