ABOUT THE SPEAKER
As the Technical Assurance and Integration Senior Manager for the Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee, Dario oversees the integration of the delivery programme and development of all programme wide strategies with other departments, including Qatar 2022’s innovative cooling and sustainability strategies.
During the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup™ bid, Dario was responsible for the design and construction of a 500-seat prototype stadium, which used zero-carbon cooling technologies to bring the temperatures in the stadium and on the pitch to 23° C, while outside temperatures hovered in the low 40s. The prototype used existing technology and an innovative geometric design to prove to FIFA’s inspection team that cooling could be accomplished in warm temperatures.
Dario has twenty years of industry experience comprising design, project management, quality assurance, quality control and construction supervision. Prior to joining the Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee, Dario was a Lead Architect for P&T Architects and Engineers in Abu Dhabi. He has previously worked both in the United States and Colombia.
Dario holds an International Executive Masters in Business Administration from EuroMBA and a Diploma in Project Management. He received his Bachelor’s in Architecture from the Autonomous Caribbean University in Barranquilla, Colombia.
