So the stage has been set…
On 28 May at the San Siro Milan, Italy, the great rivalry of Club Atlético de Madrid and Real Madrid C.F. will face off on what is the largest football club competition, the UEFA Champions League.
In a repeat of the 2014 final – just edged by Real Madrid C.F. – we will witness two contrasting playing styles trying to achieve what can certainly be seen as contrasting goals.
Real legend Zinedine Zidane will be trying to achieve his first piece of silverware as a manager, against Diego Simione who is now seen as one of the top young managers in club football.
The Galacticos of Real – one of the most expensive squads of all time – with Ronaldo and Bale, the two most expensive players ever, against Atletico’s relatively cost efficient team.
Most interesting though, you have Real looking for a record 11th title and Atletico looking for their first Champions League trophy in their history.
It will be a great night of sport and I look forward to meeting all our industry professionals a few days later at the 7th annual TheStadiumBusiness Awards on the pitch of the Santiago Bernabéu on 1 June.
