At the Design & Development Awards (#TDA25), it’s not only about celebrating the very best in global venue design. For Xperiology and our community, it’s also about making a meaningful difference in the wider world.

This year, we received 107 valid entries across the Awards categories. And with our pledge to donate £10 for every completed nomination, that’s £1,070 going directly to EMERGENCY UK.

Timely support

The funds raised through our Awards programme will support EMERGENCY’s participation in the Global Sumud Flotilla, which is sailing right now. Their search and rescue ship Life Support has departed from Siracusa, Italy, alongside the Italian delegation of the flotilla.

For this reason, EMERGENCY’s ship Life Support will set sail alongside the Global Sumud Flotilla, a non-violent maritime mission composed of delegations from 44 different countries with the aim of bringing aid into the Strip, opening a humanitarian corridor by sea, and denouncing the inaction of governments and institutions.

Acting as an observer, Life Support is also providing medical assistance and logistical support where needed, helping repair damaged technical equipment, and contributing essential supplies such as food and water to participating vessels.

Standing in solidarity

As EMERGENCY’s healthcare teams continue to witness the dire conditions faced by the population in Gaza – where their clinic in al-Qarara has already recorded more than 23,000 visits this year, over half from minors – the charity’s participation in this initiative has never been more vital.

By joining the Global Sumud Flotilla, EMERGENCY is standing with citizens around the world who refuse to remain passive in the face of such suffering. And thanks to the generosity of our Awards entrants and the wider Design & Development community, we’re proud to be playing a small part in making this possible.
